Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is a safe surgical procedure with minimal risk when performed by experts. Endometriosis, pelvic support issues, gynecological malignancy, abnormal uterine bleeding, and persistent pelvic discomfort are all common reasons for the surgery. Only the uterus is removed with a partial hysterectomy. If the specific condition calls for it then along with the uterus and cervix in a total hysterectomy the tubes and ovaries may also need to be removed. Hysterectomy may be performed abdominally or laparoscopically, with the latter being the preferred method because of its low invasiveness. Laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy, which is performed partly by laparoscopy and partially through the vagina, is another option. A laparoscopic hysterectomy entails making a few tiny incisions on the abdomen, each approximately half an inch long.
